Streatham Redskins 3-12 Invicta Dynamos

Four goals in a man of the match performance from returnee Callum Fowler saw the Invicta Dynamos ease to a 12-3 road victory against the Streatham Redskins on Sunday evening.

Justin Noble (3), Ryan Ellis (3), Andy Smith and Callum Best were also on target at the High Road.

This ENIHL Southern fixture saw the Dynamos face the Redskins at their historic home for the final time, ahead of their host’s upcoming move to Brixton, and an excellent team performance ensured the old building would hold fond memories as the visitors comfortably secured the two league points.

In the opening frame Callum Fowler’s eagerness to impress, having returned to the club midweek, saw him open the scoring just two minutes in, despite his team being shorthanded, and a quick second from Justin Noble then made it 2-0 just sixty seconds later.

By the buzzer that lead was three with Andy Smith firing in beyond Shane Kemp for the formidable advantage come the first break.

In the second period Alastair Band then dropped the gloves to tussle with Streatham’s Casimir Madren-Britton and the Dynamos’ hard man claimed the fight win with a number of hefty punches that floored his opponent. When the play restarted the visitors then pulled further ahead as Callum Best found the target before a pair from Callum Fowler saw the in form forward complete his hat-trick and make it 6-0.

Between Fowler’s quick double Dynamos’ blue liner Ryan Giles joined in the fisticuffs as he tussled briefly with Streatham’s Daniel Botting. Justin Noble then claimed his second of the night for the seven goal edge before the Redskins finally answered with Jerry Pavlus and Liam Rasmussen cutting into the hefty deficit.

The final say of the period would go to the visitors though as a shorthanded Ryan Ellis strike made it 8-2 after forty minutes.

In the last frame the Dynamos continued to boss the play and they added four more to their tally to complete the convincing victory. Callum Fowler picked up his third shorthanded strike of the evening to make it 9-2 before Ryan Ellis put the away side into double figures with a well placed effort beyond Shane Kemp. Justin Noble then completed his hat-trick six minutes from time before Ellis followed suit moments later with another shot that put the puck between the posts.

Despite being resoundingly beaten, it was the Redskins who would have the final word however, as ‘import’ Jerry Pavlus tallied with just seconds remaining to claim the smallest of consolations.

So it was a second win of the weekend for the Dynamos and the sizeable victory saw the team take tally an impressive 22 goals over the two road games. The man of the match on the night for the visitors was undoubtedly Callum Fowler with the returning 20 year old making an excellent impression in just his second game back with four goals and two assist to his name.

From here the team now prepare for a third consecutive road tie with the calendar showing a trip to Chelmsford to face the Chieftains on Sunday with faceoff at 6.30pm at the Riverside.
